FAQ

At-home wedding questions.

Can you legally get married at home?

Yes. With a Utah marriage license, you can say “I do” from your own home while your officiant joins by live video. Your marriage is recorded by Utah County, and you receive an official Utah marriage certificate.

Do we need a venue or a permit to get married at home?

No venue needed. Your home is the venue. Permits are usually only needed for public places like parks or beaches.

Who needs to be there?

The two of you and two witnesses. Your witnesses can be in the room with you or join by video, or we can provide them.

Can family who can’t come still watch?

Yes. Guests can join the video call or watch with our livestream and personal wedding page, from anywhere.

What do we need to set up?

A laptop, tablet or phone with a camera, a steady internet connection, and a spot with good light. That’s it.
