With the advancement of technology, Long Distance Relationships (LDRs) have been, and will continue to be, on the rise. 

A big contributor to this increase is the staple and norm of online dating. Before this uptick, long distance relationships mostly consisted of studying abroad, college transferring, job relocation, and military assignments.

But now, dating apps and websites are thrown into the mix by connecting you instantly with millions of people across the world!

The possibilities of falling in love with someone far away has dramatically increased.

If you are one of the many that have fallen in love and found yourself in an LDR, what’s next?

First things first, you need to strengthen that relationship! It may not be easy, but it is possible and people are doing it.

According to the New York Post, around 88% of people in an LDR say that technology lets them stay close to their partner. Of course, being physically together with the person you love is preferred, but when it’s not possible, technology helps to keep you close and maintain the relationship.

Whether it’s texting, talking on the phone, or even video chatting, getting intimate can easily be accomplished and feelings of closeness increases.

When you get married through a virtual call, you can simplify the process and be anywhere in the world and still get a legal and valid marriage. This means, much like video chatting, you don’t have to be physically together to have a special and memorable wedding.

Sometimes the harder road makes the journey more enjoyable.

Any relationship can be tough and require effort—even more so with long distance relationships, but is worth it in the end.
